Cartier and Montblanc
Hi all, my 1st day on WatchCrunch and need your help. I'm planning to buy the Cartier Santos Large and Montblanc 1858 Geosphere from a Cartier boutique and Montblanc boutique.
I've always gotten some type of discount when buying watches from other multi brand AD's. I was in the Cartier boutique and Montblanc boutique yesterday, and was offered no discount when considering purchasing the watches. Does anyone have any experience with these brands and received any type of discount? What type of discount should I try to be obtaining? Is it possible on either of these watches? Thanks
2 years in the hobby. Just starting to upgrade my collection now from multiple low end watches and microbrands to higher end horology and iconic pieces
If you look on Chrono24.com, it appears that the Montblanc's can be had for a discount, while the Santos cannot.
My suggestion would be to always look on Chrono24 first, to get a sense of what the real market price for any watch is.

I was able to get a discount on the WSSA0037 from an AD a couple of weeks ago that effectively worked out to covering the 12% taxes that I would have otherwise needed to pay.

Thanks Tempus. I meet with the Cartier dealer Tuesday. I'm in Toronto, Canada, so the taxes will be 15%. Hopefully I can get at least 10% with Cartier. Meet with the Montblanc dealer Thursday and want at least 15% on that piece
Hello. I purchased a large Santos yesterday from an AD. 10% discount and used my tax exemption form. 6700 total. I don't believe I would have paid the same from a cartier boutique. They also included a few goodies for my wife and I.

Thanks nycfrankie. I ended up buying the Santos Cartier Large last week. Paid full price at the boutique as they would not give me a discount, but the did include a $700 crocodile strap as a bonus with a bunch of Cartier swag, so I'm very happy, found the Montblanc on Chrono24 for a lot less so will save up some additional funds and get that watch for a discount
