Horror story about clock test (based on my experience)

is there any relation between a watch / clock and horror you might ask? i would say yes. and today i would share some of my latest experience about it and i think this subject is important and maybe some of you guys might want to know.

so lately i've been busy with marriage preparation and last week me and my family got to fly to jakarta indonesia (because my fiance live in that city) to do some prewed photo and propose ceremony.

so after all all of that stuff complete i still had a few days in jakarta and accompany my soon father in law (gentleman with light grey suit) to do some test regarding to his brain function. last year he got a stroke 3 times and experiencing some short term memory loss.

then the doctor propose some cognitive clock drawing test to check for the sign of dementia or alzheimer. In simple terms, cognition is the ability to learn, understand, and reason through experience, thoughts, and senses.

With dementia, many aspects of cognition are affected, including:

  • Executive function: Mental skills involving working memory, flexible thinking, and self-control

  • Visual-spatial ability: The ability to perceive the relationship of objects in space

  • Motor programming: The ability to represent sequence and movement in abstract form

  • Attention and concentration

All of these skills are involved when a person is asked to draw a clock. Any difficulties with the task suggest that a person may have dementia. so the person eith early sign of dementia would not able to draw the clock correctly (he might think he draw it correctly but the normal person would see the picture of a messed up clock). It scares me a lot to think about it.

(5 is normal, and 0 is bad)

And for the test as i remembered from my experience the doctor would like the patient to memorise three object (example tree, banana, and car) and he told the patient to draw the clock. the clock draw isnt too bad but he takes too long to complete it, and the doctor would ask again whats the three object he told you to memorise. and well he doesnt remember any of the three object, long story short he is diagnosed with the early sign of dementia because of the stroke disturb some of his brain function. well it breaks my heart and scare me to death how human brain work. for us it might be some simple memorise test but for those who got dementia it might be very difficult test, but it is what it is. anyway stay healty for all of you guys who read this story, dont forget to exercise, keep eating healty food, and avoid smoking if you can. cheers

It's good not knowing all that life has in store for us 💔

Dementia is a strange beast in how it affects people, and our health can be a fragile thing.

All the best to your father in law and upcoming wedding. 🙏 Make some lovely memories.

In the Hannibal TV show with Mads Mikkelsen they used the clock test for Will and it was frightening to think about

i saw the series but forgot that scene entirely. now that you mention it and i just look it up online, that scene definitely portray what this thread is trying to describe. while will is so sure he draws a normal clock, but the result is a one messed clock. its definitely scary to think about it 😳
