Social media tracking.

I knew this before I abandoned Facebook years ago. I’d be looking at a watch online and then I would get bombarded with ads for the same watch.

I’m happy to say that’s never happened here…… Yet

I don't get social media tracking, but Jomashop tracks with the best. Why it keeps on trying to sell me a Tissot is however beyond me.

Yup. This is the norm with all social media platforms. My wife and I will be having a conversation about something specific, and topics related to our conversation shows up in our google news feed. After others noticed this, Google admitted their AI listens in on our conversations, and targets that convo with specific related ads and articles. 1984 has fully materialized (this topic is just the tip of the iceberg).

For these reasons, my wife (a working professional) and I do not have social media. I do not share personal details online. My YouTube account, where I do watch reviews, is mostly anonymous. I know other professionals and people that work in government that do not have social media for similars reasons.

I usually tell people that if social media isn't being used for business (advertisement, promotions, etc), stay off. At the least, do not share personal data. Remain as anonymous as possible.

Retargeting audiences is just smart business tactics. 👍🏼

If I noticed WC doing that, I would ditch this program too, so in this case it would not be.

The only reason I still have an account is because my older relatives use Facebook messenger. I haven't posted anything in 15 years.
