[Question poll] That strap just don't fit!

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that there has been so many times when a pair of straps would work absolutely amazingly with a watch but it just doesn't fit! Either it's so tight it becomes a tourniquet, or it's so loose and the watch just moves up and down, side to side (like a rollercoaster) on my wrist all day. I'm curious to hear what has been everybody's solution to this problem.

I wear it loose or just switch straps.

*I may tighten it throughout the day depending on how much hands on work I do.

I've punched many an extra hole

Extra hole with a leather punch tool.

Or add soft material, like soft side of hook and loop to the underside to add/subtract circumference.

Could also use e-tape, clear nail polish, etc.

Necessity is the mother of invention, more so with issued gear, IFYKYK. 🫣😂👀🤏🏻

I've only done that to one pair of rubber straps (the ones shown in the title pic). I do worry that with most leather straps (.25" ish hole spacing), punching extra an hole might not leave enough material between the new hole and adjacent holes to ensure structural integrity.

Sadly, only one way to find out.

Would recommend starting with an Amazon tropical, and not the stock Typsim. 👀🤏🏻😆

Btws, fantastic choice there. Love the idea behind a realtime, aging lume.

You first owner?

Not first owner (would like to be the last owner lol). Also these are Uncle Seiko waffle straps, not stock. The holes are pretty atypically far apart compared ro normal straps so it helped with my confidence with a hot screw driver.

With my Uncle Seiko Tropic's, I use hot water to shape them. Put em in hot water for a few seconds, and then strap them around a cup, dowel, etc roughly same diameter as my wrist, then let em cool.

Punching holes works too.
