So even if I had the cash in my pocket to buy a Rolex I couldn’t just walk in to a shop and bloody buy one, so my question is, should we be telling Rolex to stick their watches up their own fudge tunnels and all buying g shocks??? thank you and goodnight much love Terry Tibbs.

Buy vintage Rolex. All the brand and quality with a history for less money. After all people that buy Rolex pay for the name and their equity value these days. Tudor is every bit as good as Rolex for a fraction of the price if your just buying quality.

That’s exactly what I’ve done. I also would love to own a 124060 but will never pay more than retail for a watch that in theory Rolex could manufacture enough of to satisfy demand, but choose not to. So, I bought a “birth year” Rolex Oyster Perpetual date (1965) to scratch my Rolex itch and a Black Bay 58 AND a Black Bay GMT for my daily wear watches. I’ve also bought a Tudor Prince Date Chrono Tiger and a Longine Heritage Diver no date. I’ve got some other watches too but my point is I am also not playing that game with the Rolex Subs and instead am enjoying several cool watches the by the way seem to be holding or even gaining a bit of value month by month.
