Decompressing

This post is going to be me complaining. I’ve spent most the day researching ways to make Third Watch better. Here’s my woes.

First, holy scammers and con artist. Once I filtered through legitimate companies and the snakes…

Why do we bother with MSRP? We all know that’s an imaginary number. I’ve been trying to negotiate some new in the box inventory. The prices are higher than if I paid retail on Amazon.

Secondly, I got my first quote for the watch I designed. 🤯. I got a few more coming yet. So maybe… I get turning my crappy image into a real functional watch is a big job.

The mod market is restricted to the off the shelf Seiko offerings and anything else is hard to find. There are a few guys here that do mods. I only make them for myself.

I respect your dedication to doing this. As others have said, hang on in there if it's something you're passionate about, and perhaps reach out to others who have been down this path before.

"I’ve been trying to negotiate some new in the box inventory."

What do you mean by this? Extra stuff to send with the watch? You obviously care a great deal about putting something awesome together for people 🍻

You’re right. There’s a small commercial spot near me and I imagine making it Third Watch headquarters all the time. Nothing ever lasts more than a couple months there.

I’m going to keep going as long as I can.

By new in the box , I mean brand new watches. As opposed to only having preowned and repaired offerings.

What I’ve found is a huge amount of scams, or what I suspect is a scam. “Distributors” requiring payment by Western Union? 😬

Or offering me “wholesale” prices higher than the same watch sells for elsewhere. Saying it’s whatever amount of MSRP.

I will say StrapsCo dealer program is the most straight forward I’ve found. It’s nice to find someone with integrity in this industry. So even if Third Watch fails, I’m forever a customer to StrapsCo.
