This was my grandfather's who served on the Saipan from ww2 through the Korean War. He passed recently at 93 years of age. He was a machinist in the Navy and used these types of tools every day. I wanted to share this Swiss made timer. Every time I open this up I swear it could be a vintage Swiss watch. I know, not a watch, but some of you may appreciate the it nonetheless.

Beautiful mechanical piece💪!
Can you please shed more light as to how it was used🙏? I guess it was shared in conjunction with a chronograph as well 🤔.
I would love to see it in person 🙌😃!

From what I gather it reads the speeds of certain machinery. I wish I knew more. This may help.
