I need your guy’s opinion

I hate to be one of these people but I need yours guys opinion. My Invicta Pro Diver 9937ob with the SW200 no longer works it’s basically shot. Do I get it repaired by cough cough Invicta and wait 6-8 months? Go to a trusted watchmaker and pray they know what they’re doing or just buy the movement?

I would buy the movement and swap it out myself. It'll be a fun learning experience if you haven't done it before.

I guess they are pretty basic, so if you know a friendly repairman, would I first try that route...

I thought about just buying the movement only problem is while I was looking at the dial I couldn’t see any screws that are attached to the movement to get the dial off? Unless I missed them earlier. I’ve done dial swaps on NH movements those dials just pop off but with this SW200 don’t see anyway. I’m gonna double check later tonight.

You have various options.

  1. Send it to Invicta. This will probably be very expense and may take for ever

  2. Take it to a watch repairer. They will advise you if it is best to repair the movement or replace it.

  3. Buy a new movement and do it yourself. If it were me I would buy a PT5000, which is fundamentally the same calibre and will cost half as much

  4. Throw it away and buy something else.
