Looking to buy my first micro brand watch

I've been wanting this Brooklyn 36 from maen for a long time now. Was just wondering if anyone had one and what your personal experience was with it?

They look great but no personal experience.

I do not own one yet, but I have handled them in person a few times at watch fairs. They are very well made and while cliche, they feel like they have a stronger build quality to many other in their price point. Solid, tested movements on top of that, make it a competitive pick in its price bracket.

I'd love to handle one before it buy it, but since it's a micro brand, that's a bit difficult to do, but I have handled their Manhattan 37 which was very nice on wrist so I have confidence in this watch too, cheers for the reply.

I struggle to not buy the Manhattan, so I get it!

If you like the design, I say go for it, I’ve handled them in person and they are worth the price tags.

I’ve heard rumors this Miyota annual calander movement is going to stop production soon (it may have already and they’re just using up stock). It’s substantially cheaper than any other annual calander movement of the same quality. So I wouldn’t wait forever if the complication is what appeals to you.

Where did you hear that rumour? Because the only thing stopping me is the price, I just need to save up and buy it at the right time, this will be the most expensive watch I've personally bought by a long way

I have looked at this one too and it’s on my list for 2024 purchase. I say get it.

From Hajime Asaoka, it was mentioned during the official release of Kurono Tokyo’s ‘Azuki’ that it would be their last with that complication due to the availability of Japanese made annual calanders. I also heard him mention that in an interview as well.

No complaints about the movement so far.

Ah right, thanks for letting me know, I'm gonna be really upset if it goes permanently out of stock, may have to make a dodgy financial decision 😂

You might have to stalk some auction sites but I’m sure it will be available on the secondary market at some point for below retail.
