Since I was born my parent always introduced watches in my life, sounds ridiculous but my first watch was a Cartier that my father gave to me on my first communion. That’s not a thing anymore, people prefer other things to celebrate achievements in other way, celebrating with a watch it’s now a thing of old people.
having a proper mechanical watch in these days it’s like smoke a cigar instead of a vape or for the younger generations… playing james Bond’s goldeneye game instead of Fortnite.
But that’s not a bad thing, apple like swatch with the Moonswatch are now an entryway to the world of timekeepin. I’m happy to see my 13 yr old nephew on YouTube looking for reviews of proper watches because he now wants a watch for special occasions. (I don’t know how special an occasion could be at his age in México city. But that’s not the point).
What I wanted to tell every one of you watch freaks it’s that the timekeeping gods work in a strange way. I’m a 33 years old owner of a Nautilus, a crazy hours and a piece of shit tw steel that I love anyways but prefers to use the Apple Watch as a day to day tool. And my nephew and he’s friends are 12-13 yrs old that are saving to buy their first mechanical piece

it has a good function for sports like heart rate monitoring, etc. but it is lack of character and after a while battery didnt last long enough. i own an apple watch before i got into mechanical

This comment encapsulates the absurdity of the very argument it attempts to make. If you concede that an iPhone is a "phone," then by the same logic an Apple Watch is even more of a "watch." Looking through my history, I've made less than a dozen phone calls on my iPhone all year. I typically check the time using my Apple Watch several times a day.
You may not like the Apple Watch, and that's fine. And you would be correct in saying that it's not a mechanical watch. But it most certainly is a watch.
