Interesting Tourbillon - JLC

Hello all: a co-worker and I were in Seattle and went on a short watch safari one evening. We got to see this JLC gyro-tourbillon:

Not my cup of tea and definetly not anything I could ever afford but it was really neat to see. I didn’t know this existed. Thought it might be interesting to some here.

Let’s see what I can recall. Feel free to correct me if someone that knows more has additional details. This exact timepiece was serial number 1 which they send around the world as an example. If someone actually wants to buy one it’s customized and made for that buyer. There is a chronometer with a digital accumulator on the left side. There is a moon-phase complication on the right. And the tourbillion is meant to negate time variance caused by gravity. That’s why it rotates in multiple axis. List price was somewhere north of $500k. The salesman that showed it to us had to go to Switzerland to get permission to bring it back and he has two possible buyers to check it out. It was stored in a suspended travel case. Really interesting - like seeing a Ferrari or Maserati or McLaren. That’s about all I can recall!! Cheers, Steve
