You and Roger Smith would be best buddies - that's one of his everyday watches.
There are some stainless steel "De Ville's" marked Seamaster De Ville with the 321 chrono's inside them - they were only produced in a couple of years, somewhere around 67 - 69 - they've all got dials pretty much like my one, ie 3 register, etc. The whole "Seamaster De Ville" line is fascinating, a short lived attempt by Omega to upsell their steel Seamaster's into the fancy "De Ville" line (which was always and still is where they keep their best bits and pieces). I think it lasted no more than a couple of years. I've had people swear to me online that they dont' exist, but yes, they do, they are a very real thing. I fear there could be a lot of franken watches around in this space.
If you want a great combo of stealth and class they are unbeatable. I can't remember off hand which exact case shapes they came in - they might have been the ones with the slightly straighter, more angular lugs, they aren't quite the exact match for this case, but are pretty darned close. A quick search will get you various interviews and reviews with RS talking about this particular watch (might even be good old Adrian Barker or someone similar) - it's one of those where the steel version will probably cost you more than the gold one these days - just because ...
Mainly vintage obsessed, prefer off the beaten path, VC, Breguet, Piaget, JLC, Zenith, Longines, Omega, Smiths. Far too many dress watches. But of course a G-Shock is god tier and always will be.
