Crunchy Restoration

Hello, Fellow crunchies!

I wanted to share my most recent Seiko restoration. I recently recovered this from a goodwill bin for mere 25 dollars. I figured it be a good lesson to learn several aspects of watchmaking.

Well, here what a little elbow grease, flitz and poly watch can do to this amazing little find. Let this be an encouragement to all of us that if you try, you can bring back something from pile.

Happy Crunchy weekend! 🥸

What a beautiful piece this will turn out to be!

🤟🏽 Just go for it, feel free to reach out to me or anyone in the community.

Thanks for the encouragement. It needs a new main spring, and a general servicing. The rotor is pretty noisy for such a small watch. Also needs a band. The thing is so tiny I fear my eyes will fail me.

Wow! That dial is just stunning! 😍

Great work 👏

Thanks, I plan in replacing the Crystal and a full service at some point. But it’ll do for the time being.

Your first one is always alittle trepidateous. But if your patient, calm and take a video of your work you’ll be ok.

Where are you learning from, what needs to be done and how to do it?

Looking for recommendations for good learning material!
