What?
Frederique Constant Classics Premiere.
A limited edition run. I think to celebrate 35 years of the brand being in business.
38.5 mm Case diameter
Applied Roman numerals
Breguet-style Hands
Lug-width of 20mm
Why?
Mostly because I didn't have a dial with roman numerals and/or Breguet-style hands.
This version has a more complex dial than the "regular" one and no date window
Yes, this was an impulse buy and I try to avoid them and trying on watches in person is always better than online shopping and this is an online shop buy.
I picked it up in mid November for myself for christmas and hid it till now.
Thoughts?
Weighs less than the Longines Heritage Classic (The Sector dial) that I own.
Rotor can be heard in a very quiet room if I deliberately move my hand around to make it spin.
I do feel the rotor when spinning it up to "fidget spinner" RPM levels deliberately and concentrating on feeling it. Normal day it's fine.
I really enjoy the dial. The different dial textures are great to look at in natural sunlight. The Applied Indices are great and add to the depth of the dial.
I guess understated "playfulness" is a good way to describe it?
The strap has several issues
Smell I don't like and very intense during the first few days
Surface texture feels a bit odd
Initially not very supple
Too big for me, even on the smallest setting.
It has the advantage of being 20mm so replacements are probably plentiful and easy to come by.
