Watches in the Wild

I don’t see many watches while out and about, partly because as a remote worker I don’t get out of the house as often as I once did. However, this week at my favorite local coffee shop I spotted a Shark watch on the wrist of a young lady in line.

I asked about it, mentioning that we see mostly smart watches these days. She said she liked the colors, then excitedly showed me all the cool functions it can do. (I enjoyed the lesson, keeping to myself that I started wearing such digitals in the 1970s when they were new, exciting, and certainly the future of all watches.)

I had one back in the day (not that color way), used to use it for triathlon training in late 80s early 90s.

They seem to be big in beach communities these days, but I left Southern California before Shark was around.
