Hi Crunch community!
For those who are possibly thinking about getting into watch repair. I thought I would share this information.
Watch Repair.com provided me with an in-depth step by step lessons to give me the knowledge and confidence to practice with an inexpensive movement to learn how to take apart, clean and oil a movement the proper way.
Now make no mistake, this will never be as good as an in person learning experience with a watchmaker BUT
it is very good for self learning and following along a professional.
There are even test you take at the end of each lesson and are graded on your knowledge retention!
This isn’t a cheap alternative but he also gives you the minimum requirements on tools to get you started.
Here are my test:
I have to admit I have slacked off only because I got lazy. But you can always picked up where you left off and rewatch videos for a refresher!
PS:
I also watched and followed along YouTubers who do watch repairs in combination to help strengthen my skills.
I have no affiliation with the company and not receiving any compensation for this post I just thought it would be good to share if anyone out there was curious but couldn’t find information.
If you have any questions ask away!
Have you ever thought or practiced servicing an old movement?
Do you enjoy watching watch repair videos like I do?
What say you??

Wow very cool!
Thank you kind sir
Cool! I can do some basic stuff, but for the moment I'd rather not deal with messing around with the mechanical aspects of watch collecting. Im not patient enough for that kind of thing and I don't have the physical space for a decent work shop.
