While I was doing my casual browsing on my local online sales platform, an old love - a 2005 explorer II came up to me. This time, it's the polar dial ๐
(I used to own the 2007 black model with no box and paper. This one has everything). The price, the condition, and of course, the authenticity of a Rolex all looking good.
The only nitpick I have is the caliber 3185 with the wobbly hour hand.
I have attached an image timeline of the #explorer2, Courtesy of Adrian from Bark & Jack.

Here is my question:
if you have the opportunity to get this today, will you pick it? Or wait for the unknown chance to get a 3186 eventually?

I've worn a 16570 with a 3185 movement in it nearly every day for years and it's never bothered me. How often do I really need to move the hour hand? In all the time I've worn it it hasn't added up to enough to make me even care let alone be bothered. The watch is amazing as you know, to me the difference between the 3185 and the 3186 is less important than lume or solid end links for example.
