The SSK is pretty great

I first saw this watch around when it was first released. When I saw it, I knew I had to get it. So after I got some money, I contemplated for a while and decided to pull the trigger. And boy am I glad I did. After wearing this watch many days in a row, I can safely say this is likely the best GMT you can get at the sub $500 price point. It’s well built and finished with a fairly nice jubilee bracelet. Not to mention the smooth, bidirectional bezel. It isn’t loose and rotates smoothly. It is a caller GMT movement, but at this price point I think that’s fine. I like that there is 24 hour marking on the inside above the indexes as well as the rotating bezel, so you can track 3 time zones at once.

That sexy jubilee really lends itself to the appeal

I just got one of these last week, but I got the Japanese SBSC001 version with the all brushed bracelet. I'm liking it a lot so far.

I really like mine after modding it. I didnt need the 3rd time zone so I swapped a timing bezel insert. Eventually, Ill swap everything over to an SKX case.

It gives it a milspec vibe I think. I wouldnt dive with it but its okay for timing breaks at work. I wish I could tighten the bezel a little though.

I got my 003 a couple days ago and love it.

Beautiful watch. I also have a SSK001 and just ordered a SKX bezel insert and an SSK bezel that’s compatible with it from namoki, looking to do the same thing. Any tips? I saw you mentioned wishing you could tighten it a little bit, didn’t know if there was anything you’d do differently in hindsight.

Just dont lube the oring like I did... That made it pretty loose for a while but its tightened up a bit since. I have actually swapped the bezel again since Long island watch is making them specifically for the SSKs.

Good to know, I’ll steer clear of it. Thanks man.

Also if you use the 3m double sided tape rings, you will need to remove some of the glue, it will gum up and lift the insert off. Here is what I did. Pop the bezel off, remove insert and clean off all the old glue with an exacto knife. Press the bezel back on. Stick the tape to the bezel insert, and then remove the backing from the other side of the adhesive and install it in the bezel. Then remove the bezel again and you will see on the back side where the insert will over hang the bezel, you need to remove the glue from that "overhang." That glue will gum up and mess up the insert.

This is all great info, thanks again!
