Grand Seiko customer service follow up SBGP017

Just got back my grand seiko SBGP017 after 8 months! I had originally purchased this piece back in summer of 2022 but had to send it for repair the very next day. The second's hand was not perfectly aligned with the markers, but they are now! Unfortunately the case back was damaged during the original servicing, and had to be sent back to Japan. (Had it not been damaged i would’ve received it back quicker). It was honest of them to tell me of this unexpected mistake. You can see on the picture that the second's hand was not right in the dead center of the double hour 12 o'clock markers.

I'm very glad they fixed it. The grand seiko Paris boutique was extremely helpful and professional.

8 months just to place the hands correctly! That is a bit too much in my opinion

This is why I’ve never pulled the trigger on GS. All the Euro centres are totally inept & resort to sending it back to JP for the slightest reason.

I’m fortunate to have purchased many luxury watches over the past 25 years & never complete the transaction without viewing the entire watch through a loupe. My worst experience was spotting a human hair behind the glass of a GMT2. The AD tried to say the hair was either on the loupe or a scratch on the loupe. Thankfully they had a watchmaker on site & he confirmed the issue in seconds. Obviously I bought something else that day, but that was 2016 & there were still options back then lol.
