Dang it, YouTube!!!

I was fortunate that the first Seiko I bought to launch this obsession was in the Prospex line (SPB147j1). I bought it pre-owned on EBay for under $1k US and have worn it weekly.

It’s sad that with inflation & production costs, this seems to be the entry point with Seiko to obtain more quality (along with/ Presage, Luxe). Unsigned crowns? Uughhh 😆

*I have a SARG003 from ‘16/‘17 that retailed for $400(?) w/ quartz crystal, 6R movement, decent bracelet, and wait for it… a signed crown. I can see now how more seasoned Seiko collectors have issues with the rising prices.

Anyway, the times are what they are. We can find decent values in the pre-owned market. Which leads me to the SPB313, which I found new from Chrono24 for $700 (Sept. ‘23). I’ve worn it weekly, and it’s as advertised - wears so well, amazing case, strap monster, don’t notice the date window, etc etc.

All we can do is continue on this “analog” journey and keep the fight against having another screen to look at on your wrist. Wear your watches and enjoy in good health!!!
