Pelagos 39

So I’ve been wearing this watch for a little over a week now and I gotta say it’s everything I expected it to be.

It pulls features and stylings from a lot of iconic waches without it feeling like a bad homage. Things like the T-fit clasp, pointed crown guards, snowflake hands/hour markers, the red pelagos at 6, and probably one of my favorite design features are the beveled lugs. (Addition, every dive watch should have a lumed bezel)

The titanium is light weight and has a beautiful dull grey coloring to it. Brushed all around, it’s nice, not shiny like it’s Rolex counterparts but still extremely well finished.

Surprisingly I do actually like the sunburst bezel although I would have preferred it and the dial to be matte like previous models.

Beating a dead horse with this one but the dial text, it’s definitely not as heavy as the original models and the “pelagos” being printed in red actually helps with that but still I think it would’ve looked very nice with just a pelagos, depth rating and maybe even just “chronometer” at the bottom.

Personally I think that if you’re spending a significant amount on a nice watch you already know the features and what it comes with. I don’t think there’s a need to advertise that stuff on the dial. Not to mention there’s all this space on the case back. Im ranting at this point.

What are your thoughts on this piece? Likes, dislikes, what could they have done differently or better even.

(Also forgot to mention the Tudor shield on the crown, mine lines up perfectly it’s so satisfying to see that shield line up after screwing it down)

Good for you. Looks great.

This watch has been on my radar for a while. Haven’t had a chance to find one in person to see how it feels on the wrist. I like everything about it. The only hesitation I have is the fact that it’s made from a softer titanium which makes it more prone to scratches.

What’s your experience?

If I was going to have a one watch, this would be it. Well finished and classy enough for going out to dinner, casual and rugged enough for adventures. The titanium has a nice look and makes it comfortable. Black goes with everything.

It's on the short list of watches I want but probably don't need 😉

Congrats on your new piece! It truely is an awesome watch 🙌🏻

It’s a little early to tell but most of the scratches I’ve picked up so far have been on the clasp which I’m pretty sure is made of steel correct me if I’m wrong

Can you link the graphite brush you use?

It’s a great one, checks a lot of boxes for me. I’ve always wanted a submariner vintage or modern and now that I have this I really don’t feel the need for one unless I’m able to get a Kermit or something along those lines.

Good question. I just checked the website and it says that the bracelet and clasp are titanium. Either way I think a few scratches are not going to stop me from making a consideration.

I think now is the time or very soon at least. I got mine for a great deal and I just checked a few market places and there are a few in the high 3,000’s. Good luck!

Me too the blue pelagos is what I’ve been wanting I did speak to a local AD about it. He didn’t confirm it but said something along the lines of it being possible in the near future

·

don't worry. as soon as I buy a regular blue pelagos, they'll drop the blue dial pelagos 39.

I Love the 39. Only reason I'm not getting it is the MN FXD which will be my next major purchase. I have worn my black dial full fat pelagos a lot including a week solid sea swimming every day and I haven't found it marks any easier than my steel divers. A few light scratches on the clasp is all I have noticed.

To be fair the Pelagos whichever variant you have needs to look a little worn!

Hahahah get on it then, I would get rid of this for a blue one in a heart beat!

Congrats!! Just got mine earlier this week. The Tudor shield on the crown of mine lines up as well.

I’ve got the same thinking but just the other way round, I tried one on on the AD and looked and felt great can’t believe how light it actually is! But having a Sub date already I can’t justify getting one~ unless it’s the FXD blue marine Nationale version.
