I went on a bus tour around Western Europe back in 2007. My wife and I were young and firmly believe that experiences are more important than things (so maybe spent more that we should have on the trip!).
I bought this watch in a shop in Lucerne, Switzerland because I wanted to buy a Swiss watch in Switzerland and didn’t have a ton of money to spend 😀. It’s a Hanowa Sealander. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have made a different choice but this holds a special place in my modest collection!
My wife was looking at my watch case the other day and I asked which was her favorite. She picked this one, not even remembering this is the one I got on that trip. Shows that non watch people really don’t care about the things we do haha!
Doesn’t get much wrist time, but thought it was time today.

Watches with a story are usually the best ones. I like that a lot.
It's always the story behind a watch that makes it special.
And I bet the watch works to day still like on the first day.
If you are interested here is my column also about HANOWA.
