I got one of their OP Datejust homage pieces on a bracelet a few months back and I’m impressed in some ways and disappointed in others. First off for me is the accuracy is not as solid as yours seem to be. I am running 30 or more seconds fast every day, which is excusable and well within the value proposition of a $100 watch, but I still wish it was as good as yours seems. Second, the high Polish of the case is nice but the bracelet is all brushed and it looks mismatched.  I just put it on leather and it looks nice though. I remain impressed with the feel of the watch and crown, the dial is nice, everything is lined up the way it should be. My verdict on Steeldive is that if you’re looking to buy an homage or just a sort of affordable basic watch there are a lot of worse options than the Steeldive.

Try getting it demagnetised. 30 secs is a lot, but it’s really easy to end up magnetised these days.

I've recently gotten back into watches as a hobby and the Steeldive 1953 was one of my first purchases. Of the half-dozen-ish watches I've picked up so far (including an Orient Bambino, a Casio, a couple of Invicta Pro Divers, and a Baltany) the Steeldive has been the one I always come back to. The first "daily" of my burgeoning collection. The materials used/specs are just so good compared to the others and I like the reassuring weight. A lot of the fit and finish just feels really nice to my untrained eye/wrist. That being said, you can definitely see your money is spread thin in some areas. The bracelet and clasp in particular are a bit rough and I need to be really careful putting the watch on lest I lose a chunk of my arm. Overall, I really like it though and am actively looking at what else I could snag from their catalogue.

I hear a lot of people say that about the bracelet and clasp, l find it strange as l've No problem with both and l find them comfortably good on my 7½ wrist

I maybe just lucky
