I always forget how exciting a simple strap change can be

I usually keep my 3861 Speedmaster on the amazing bracelet (minus the on the fly adjustment😢) but when I get bored of the same thing I go back to my B&R strap using Horween leather and it gives the watch a whole new look that feels exciting.

@GabeDewey I agree 1000%. Andrew from Watch Finder & Co. says that before you buy a new watch, think about getting a new strap for watches you already own. He’s not wrong. I just got a khaki strap for my #sarb035 and I’m wearing it almost on a daily basis again haha.

Strap changes are one of life’s simple pleasures.

Looks great on that strap 👌I think the Speemaster suits a brown strap, I have mine on a brown suede strap.

@pez1980 I love that reference! How much did you get it for?

Have had a good few years, but think it was around £1.5K. It’s my favourite Speedmaster, but setting the date drive me crazy 😜

I totally agree with this comment. Changing straps is a major part of my watch enjoyment. A new strap can often breath new life into a watch that you have gotten bored with, and usually scratches the new watch itch. It can work the other way too though. Sometimes after buying a bunch of new straps, I think, "I could have gotten a new watch for what I spent on straps...." haha.

I roll in a daily beater Seiko 5 (was new not long ago till I dropped it.. now it's a beater but I love it still). I change straps several times a week. Relatively inexpensive ($200-ish) watch with a bunch of $5-20 mostly NATO straps in all sorts of colors.. it's like a new watch all the time. Colors such as green, black, tan to coordinate with my "outfit" of the day, orange for fall and Halloween, red for Christmas time (and a red with Ho Ho Ho on it for Christmas day!), Too much fun and for sure on the cheap. I have leather, nylon, and cotton. Just ordered another batch to toss much needed blue and burgundy into the mix.

My wife, even with her well-exercised eye-roll muscles regarding my hobby, said yesterday while I was showing off my maroon over black ensemble laid out for the next day featuring matching socks and shirt and seeing my watch on the valet.. "You're going to wear a green watch with that?" Oh! No, I almost forgot! Thanks, honey! Quick swap into a nicely slimming black strap and I'm good to go. :-D
