Our Yuletide celebration technically extended into Friday's WRUW as we stayed up waaaay too late before the final guests wandered out into the longest night of the year. There are many variations of this practice but our Christmas tradition includes having all present on the winter solstice write either an affirmation or something they want to manifest on a piece of paper adorning the Yule log before it is ceremoniously placed in the fire. A portion of the burned log is retrieved from the fireplace the following morning, saved and attached to next year's Yule log. This Yule log has 30 unbroken years of containing a piece from the previous year. Wearing the Breitling Chronomat with UTC module recently gifted to me by Mrs. Wonderful.
