Yes, worked out fine. Just check the dealers. A lot of really big Japanese ones are on there but as always not all will be created equal.

I have bought and sold on Chrono 24 but only USA sales. I didn’t have any issues

I've purchased from Chrono24 in the past, and it's been a great experience, except...

  • All countries try to protect their domestic producers by putting up tariffs and other barriers - in other words, they screw us, the consumer, in order to gift extra money to concentrated interests (the producers)

  • In my own case, I found a beautiful SLGA013 for sale from a professional dealer in Japan on Chrono24, selling at an amazing price - especially since the USD was very strong relative to the Yen

  • Bought it, got it, life was good

  • Unfortunately, CA sent me a letter demanding $600 in "state use tax" - in other words, "F*ck you, consumer! How dare you get a good deal and save money by buying from a producer that doesn't pay us lots of political graft!"

They won. I won't be buying from Japan any time soon. With that "state use tax" there's no longer any savings to be had, even with the exchange rate. And my goal is to optimize in such a way that I give as little of my money as humanly possible to the government.

Chrono24 is where I go to buy higher end watches because they have the escrow check out system. Basically the seller does not receive the money until you inspect your watch and release the funds. Peace of mind and less hassle.

I have checked with revenue Canada and have to pay a 5% import fee and 12% sales tax it is still cheaper than buying it in Canada but at least I know going in.

Anyone ever bought off zetton in Japan off Chrono24

I bought my GS SLGA015 from Japan through chrono24. No problems and was a very good experience. I probably saved $2k overall (discount and taxes) buying from a Japanese AD rather than in-country AD (nearest is 3 hours away). FedEx custom import and handling fees was something like $230.
