Just took delivery of a Weishi 1000 today. Had a quick play before going to work.
It was a quick comparison of what I have, only checked with dial up.
Three watches: All new. Seagull 1963 runs at plus 4 seconds a day.
Vostok amphibia, minus 5 seconds a day.
Steeldive Tuna with a Seiko NH35, plus 18 seconds a day.
I had realised the Steeldive was obviously fast, I expected the Seagull to be good. Although I knew the Vostok was seemingly keeping good time, pleasantly surprised to see it confirmed.
My pocket watches, at leat 100 years old.
A Waltham traveller which I knew was horrendous, would only register for a few seconds. Not surprising as it loses an hour a day!!!
Waltham Riverside, showing as losing three minutes a day. With a beat error of 9.9,
1) I think this is the maximum beat error that the timegrapher will show?
2) I left the lift angle at 52 degrees for the Walthams, I'm fairly sure that I should set this manually?
3) I've Googled it, not much luck. Any thoughts?
4) Although I don't know what difference this would make?
4) The amplitude of both watches is a seemingly feeble 160 degrees?
No idea of the history of these pocket watches, undoubtedly need cleaning. Beat of both is 18,000.
At least I now have a benchmark to start from. 😊
Slightly eccentric, wicked sense of humour. Self confessed watch cheapskate, who tinkers with watches. Love motorbikes, to date, I've ridden about 250,000 miles, 113,000 of which are on my BMW 1150GS....
