The second hand was running, but neither the hour or minute hands moved. When the crown was pulled out to set the time, both hands were very loose. I diagnosed the friction fit of the cannon pinion as being loose. I've just tightened it up using a blunted pair of nail clippers and a precision pin. Feeling quite pleased with myself, although am I being premature? ๐
See if I can find two screws that were missing from the assembly, the ones that secure the movement to the case.
Slightly eccentric, wicked sense of humour. Self confessed watch cheapskate, who tinkers with watches. Love motorbikes, to date, I've ridden about 250,000 miles, 113,000 of which are on my BMW 1150GS....

Awesome job tightening that cannon pinion. Did the same thing for a 1940s Movado tank using a blunt and taped-up nail clippers.
