Kind of a meaningful watch for me.

I know it’s just a G-shock, but I wore the DW6900 throughout most of my years in the service during the late ‘90s. I’m pretty sure it was issued to me by my command. It was all I ever needed in a tool watch at that time, and it served me well. Sadly, after the band and bezel deteriorated, I threw the watch away, not even thinking that replacements existed.

I recently decided to replace it for nostalgic reasons. So this GW6900 is the upgraded replacement for that watch. Not the exact watch, but it brings out the same feelings and memories. I have several G-shocks, but this is probably the only one I’ll ever post here because of my history with it.

Anyone have a meaningful watch that was discarded or lost, and you’ve replaced with a surrogate?

Just a G-Shock? That's like saying "it's just the Mona Lisa"! Great watch, great story. Enjoy! 👍

Haha. Yeah it’s a great watch. I guess I wrote that because of some of the negative comments about people posting all of their G-shocks and other Casio’s and such. New here and not totally familiar with the culture yet. Thanks for the nice feedback 😁

Welcome to the Crunch! This is a safe space-your Casios and G-Shocks (and everything else) are welcome here. I have that exact same watch. 👍😁

My 6900 has endured long distance moving, yard work, vacations, children's birthday parties... you name it. I have a ton of memories logged on mine! Such a fantastic watch

Yeah, I really regret tossing my original. It saw some hard use. Live and learn 👍
