Once more into the breach after a wonderful little break. Back to work with the Electric California DW03 Tide dive watch. I’ve never been able to figure out what functionality the cutout in the crown serves, any guesses? Be good, be kind crunchers!

Back to work so soon, Mark. I think I'd rather stay in the trenches. At least you had a great watch to accompany you 🤓

Thanks John, it’s got a bit brawny style! It’s the US not the UK, so if I want to take serious time off later this year I have be happy with little soul saving bits of time!

A back to work watch with a lot of character Mark. I'm also scratching my head about that crown 😃

Thanks Tony, I should tell you that when you pull the crown out to set it, you don’t make full revolutions to advance the hands but rather twist it in either direction just enough to make electronic contact and hold it to move the hands forward or backwards. That information gave me no clue to purpose of the cutout though. If better grip is the purpose, increased functionality of the crown would be better served with knurled sides, especially in water.

Cool watch Mark. If the watch had a moon phase I tell you it's a tide complication. The moon the rise and fall of the tide. Oris has a tide complication watch. A guy posts it on WRUW every once in a while. Have a good one.

Thanks Craig, I liked its looks and for me here in land locked Colorado, high/low tides are not a thing 😂

Great looking watch, perhaps just an aesthetic slot I guess, whatever it is for it’s a cool looking piece 👏🏻👏🏻
