Just got this Anytime mechanical. Claims shockproof with dual measurement. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I needed a replacement caliper for work and a dial caliper is fast and convenient. And this one has both inch and millimeter measurements which isn't the case with all brands (not even the industry standard Japanese Mitutoyo calipers).

It's all mechanical so no zeroing, no turning on/off, no batteries.

Great value for like 40 bucks. Less than half the cost of a Mitutoyo.

For me the dial makes work faster but some guys prefer the simplicity and legibility of a big digital display. Plus they are probably more shockproof than mechanical ones.

The brand is Anytime Tools which is based in California. I don't think it's actually made in the USA but they say that they test/calibrate each item. Mine is highly accurate and very well made.

It's not the fanciest thing but overall I'm very pleased. Mitutoyo make nicer ones with color dials (the purple is cool) but I couldn't find them on Amazon and I didn't want to waste my time on finding and ordering them from elsewhere.

I've had this in my tool bag for about 15 years, and the one thing I use it for most often is sizing batteries for the junk drawer watches that have lost theirs๐Ÿ˜†

Nice. I have an old one somewhat similar to this. I do use them a lot though for sewing and all sorts of projects.
