Watches that are fun to wear
One of the nicer things about collecting watches is that it's one of the few collection's hobbies were you can use your collection instead of keeping it at home or in secure locations and you don't need a lot of space to do it, one wrist and a box or a drawer will do the job just fine.
Some of my watches were bought for practicality, such as the Explorer look alike that I wore yesterday because I wanted a boring passe-partout. Today I'm wearing the ISL-68 because there is only so much boredom that I can cram in a single week.
The ISL-68 is not boring because every time I look at it on my wrist I'm reminded that it really has a lovely dial.
Of course, the party trick of this dial is that it's fully lumed but it never stopped me from peeking at it even under daylight.
With its sturdy (but heavy) build and a plain vanilla Seiko NHWhatever movement inside it's also going to be trouble free for many years of enjoyment.
I'm a big fan of watches that are interesting because they are either unique, have interesting features, well designed or simply offer a great value for their price.
