Believe it or not, the cover photo for this post is one of the best shots that I ever took of my G-Shock GM-S5600 negative display. These looks cool when used in professional advertisements but in reality they are not very practical, at least if you are interested in reading the time at a glance, or two.
TLDR: The smallest true G-Shock isn't just dark and murky, it truly embraced the dark side.
They do have cool cars and suits there, so there is that.
Despite its diminutive size, the GM-S5600 is still a true G-Shock - as can attest the logo and engraving on its back. Unfortunately it also means that it's fitted with a plastic band, which in the case of the GM-S5600 is particularly bad. The only solution that I found to this problem is a set of J&K adapters that enabled me to fit a decent 20mm FKM rubber tropic strap.
It's a cool looking watch and I believe that with a nicer black leather strap it will also fulfill quite nicely the role of a G-Shock dress watch, if such a thing is even possible.
