10:10:10 - It's Horology time!

It literally took me ages until I finally managed to cross this important threshold on my way (journey for @Aurelian ) to become a certified watch collector. But today is the day when I convinced myself to take a shot of a dial at exactly 10:10 and 10 seconds. I felt so proud of myself that I immediately promised to myself that I'll buy a CASIO calculator watch to shoot a "boobs" picture next time.

I decided to abandon for a while my lost decade of the 70's and reach further into the past to grab a 50's Air King Explorer, TBH it's not really one, but the Mathey-Tissot MT369 will have to be enough in view of the prices asked on Chrono24 for the few originals that are left.

As far as homages go, the MT369 isn't a bad one. The entwined M&T logo replaced the crown on the dial and the triangle on the hour's hand, but the distinctive flaring bezel is there as well as the long markers on the minute's track. The 34.5mm case diameter is about the right size too.

I can't complain about the quality either. The printed dial is crisp with a minimal amount of text and the finish of the hands, while not extraordinary, is good enough to be shown on a macro shot without shaming itself.

I never had the experience to wear a real vintage Air King Explorer and therefore I can't compare it to the MT369, which wears exceptionally well on my wrist due its balance and the finicky but flexible bracelet.

I got a Nivada Grenchen for the same reason and I love it too. That is very sharp and I hope scratches the itch!
