Please Identify

Hi all,

I have recently inherited my Grandfather’s old watch and was trying to find out more information on it. On the case back it has the words “T 82”, I believe it would of been purchased in America or more specifically L.A. Not sure on the date but it has to be pre 2011. Mechanical movement with an estimated less then 48 hour power reserve.

Many thanks 😁

Thank you for this information, it has lead me to get more confused as according to a quick Google search “According to Timex’s own documentation” production of manually wound movements stopped in July 1982”

I think to get the information on a mechanical movement, you will need the code at the bottom of the dial, which in your case is obscured by the case.

Per the page I linked: "Most (possibly all) mechanical Timex watches from 1963 until the end of mechanical production in 1993 have a reference number, usually at the bottom of the dial. The last two numbers correspond to the year the watch was produced. The two (occasionally 3) numbers before that are the movement number, the remaining numbers are the catalog number. For example, 2495210592 would indicate catalog number 24952, movement 105, year 1992. In some cases this number is hidden under the bezel and cannot be viewed without removing the movement from the case."
