..this really reinforces what i told a friend recently; cos' i've got a busy lifestyle but not making bags of money, so my collection is 100% quartz from which i can just pick up a watch & go & know i've got the right time on my wrist - no hassels. Quartz, relatively cheaper, virtually maintenance free, just battery changing every 2 or 3 yrs..... and Quartz's Precisionist movement produces the smoothest seconds hand sweep in the world, which to me is extremely satisfying to look at. I guess currently, only Seiko's Spring Drive movement is anywhere near the Precisionist's in terms of sweeping smoothness, but it costs thousands of dollars more, heres my 200 usd precisionist movement watch.
