Mondaine Cushion Watch

Has anyone had any experience with this watch? I have not been able to find much information about it online. If so, how’s your experience with it been, and what is the specific movement in it, if you know?

I had no idea Mondaine had wised up and started offering something a bit different! And it comes in 31mm too!

It says right on their website that the 41mm Grand Cushion uses a Ronda 5030 quartz and the 31mm Petite Cushion uses a Ronda 503 quartz movement.

Thanks I don’t know how I skipped over that 😂

Yeah it’s great… I’ve always loved their dials but this case shape and everything… the fact that it’s chronograph… it’s all just incredible

Hello. I can't speak to this watch, but I recently had a Mondaine quartz railway watch. I paid $125 which I thought was a good deal. Its second hand was way off. I'm not a complete stickler for this, but you would think a lollipop second hand with a big red circle on the end could come close to the markers. Still, I could forgive that, but the hour hand was also about 5 minutes off, very noticeable when its width is the same as the hour markers it's lining up against. And it's even more glaring at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock.

I ended up donating the Mondaine to our Church festival, and bought a Berny 2678M watch version of the Swiss railway clock for $18. It turned out to be a better watch in almost every way - accurate hands, thinner case, and brushed metalwork which I thought was more in keeping with its station in life.

I think the watch you're considering has a great look, and I hope that if you get it, my Mondaine experience was a fluke.

I have posted a reply to your Mondaine question. But PS: The Seiko Quartz on your profile page is a raving beauty. I have never seen that one. Is it one of yours? If so, can you supply some info about it, such as model no., what year it is, how you acquired it, what you think about it, etc.?

It’s amazing but sadly I know almost nothing about it… I’ve had that image on my phone for a while… it’s not one of mine and I cannot find any information on it . The closest one I have found to it is this listing on eBay

I have a Mondaine Big Date that's as dead as a dodo. It just stopped one day. I assumed it was the battery so took it to the local jeweller. The battery is fine but he didn't seem to think it was repairable. I'm in France at the moment but my language skills aren't the best.
