1920s CYMA

This is my wife’s daily watch. Given to her grandmother by her grandfather in 1931. The second hand doesn’t work but with a daily wind, the watch keeps good time. There is lots of history to this watch as her grandfather was Vice President of Ukraine back then. There’s more history to it which we’ve thought about taking to an auction house who could tell us if there a value to it. On the internet as it is, I t’s possibly only worth a few hundreds.

I love watches with family history. Beautiful watch with great memories.

As someone with about half a dozen inherited watches that mostly can only be presumed to be from one of half a dozen or so collateral ancestors, I strongly encourage you to write any oral knowledge down and keep it near the watch. It would be a shame if decades from now this tale gets reduced to "oh, your late aunt said this was important but I can't remember why" or the like.

@PoorMansRolex that’s a good idea, I’ll get her to write it all down 👍
