Tip of the hat to the MKII Greywater

I have been collecting for over ten years now and many watches have graced my wrist. I just now have a collection that I find hard to break up. That is, when there is a watch peddled by one of our favorite personalities, I cannot decide what watch to give up. For example, recently, I have been thinking I want an IWC Mark XVIII. A watch I imagine to be tough, rugged and handsome. So, I think, maybe I should sell my MKII Greywater as this is as close to the IWC I have. The problem is, I put on the Greywater and it winked back at me with all the charm of a renegade cowboy that is on its way to avenge the death of a friends. I mean, look at that dang second hand, bold and unforgiving. It’s a second hand that will kick down a bar door, slam down a silver dollar and order a whiskey.

I need not an IWC when the Greywater looks me in the eye, downs a shot from a dirty glass and firmly nods it’s approval like it knows how cool it is.

The MkII Blackwater, Greywater, and LRRP where some of my first "maybe someday" watches when I first got into watches with my Orient Mako back in 2007.

MKII and Bathys were all over the forums at the time. Good buy there sir!

Thank you. You’re right about the MKII and Bathy presence back then. You couldn’t start a conversation in the forums without someone screaming their praise.

I’ll also add to your list as I remember a lot of talk and action with Bernhardt. Ah, the good ol days.

Well, considering the MKII Greywater was limited to 50 pieces but only 39 were produced, I would hang on to it.

Yup. That is absolutely a factor that makes it hard for me to sell. I have #2 of #50 (#39). I think that a #49 was actually made and is out there in the wilderness somewhere. Watchuseek has a thread dedicated to tracking down owners.
