Man walks into a local AD, with no intension to buy a watch. Man leaves with new watch...

Back in Feb of this year (2023), I purchased an Omega SMP (White Dial, Black Bezel) from Ebay, at a fantastic price. (Well below MSRP) Actually never thought my final bid would even come close to winning it.

Side Note - This watch was never pictured in my WRUM

Problem was, I had just purchased the same watch, in blue, a few months earlier. I preferred blue and no need for 2 of the exact same watch, IMO. So when it arrived, I immediately drove it to a local AD who has a small consignment section and left it with him. Never even tried it on. 😭😮😀

Over the summer, I called a few times to check on it, but no luck. Life then got in the way and I forgot about it until today. I reached out to the AD and said I would swing in and pick it up. My thought was to trade it in or list it on EBAY; get a wider audience.

When I arrived, the owner pulled me aside and told me, they had actually sold it over the weekend, but had not yet reached out in case of return. He apologized...but honestly, it was the best news.

So as I waited for my check, with a nice little profit, I noticed the Bruce Lee sitting on the self. Ended up leaving with a new watch, with no money out of pocket and a check I wasn't expecting. What an afternoon!
