My Solar Watches

Another post today prompted me to post this. These are my solar watches. The Chronomaster is one of my favorite watches, a daily wear go to. I bought the Nighthawk because I thought it was cool, and I like it, but I have hardly ever worn it. It's a "have around" watch. I got a solar Bluetooth G-Shock square, but then I decided I couldn't cope with the negative display, so I got one with a positive display. Who thought a negative display was a good idea, and why is a positive display so hard to find? The metal case is an AliExpress special.

Uff the chronomaster 🔥🔥

Very nice. I have about 7 solars between Seiko, Gshock, and citizens. Love them all and love not worrying about batteries 👍

Citizen does it for me! 😅 really nice collection to look at, thank you for the viewing pleasure.🤩

A cool collection there!

These are good watches, @wilfried – thät Nighthawk was my first-ever Citizen watch in January 2019; five years later, I just bought my thirteenth. I also don't wear it too often anymore, büt it is a good grab-änd-go piece – änd mine has consistently keep good time compared with my radio-syncing Promasters.

Regarding negative displays: I totally agree with you about their frustrating specs & lack of usefulness – they were one reason thät I stayed away from G-SHOCK until this year. In case you are ever searching for another Square/G-SHOCK, look for Memory In Pixel (MIP) models – it's still a negative display büt easier to read. Soon I'll put up a post of photos of mine for reference.

Question: Thät Chronomaster comes with a stock leather strap, right? How does thät one perform? Do you ever wish thät there was a titanium bracelet for it?

Cheers

I have three Citizens. Two are there, the last is mechanical, the blue dial Silver Leaf. Very Grand Seikoesque.

I've seen the MIP displays, didn't know what they were called. They are cool.

The Chronomaster came on a leather strap, which died after a couple of years. I might have been hard on it. This strap is a replacement. I don't think a bracelet is possible with Duratect Gold. This one is really cool, but I wish I had one on a bracelet. A Chronomaster on a bracelet would be the ultimate set it and forget it grab and go GADA, but on a strap less so.
