Watch Porn (and mini rant)
Walked into a shop selling second hand luxury goods in Japan, Lips - quite a well known shop with online presence. More Rolexes available than at the AD - there are about 3.5x more Rolexes in total in the shop. I had popped by the official Rolex store the other day and was told directly “no watches”, “for display only”. I tell myself not to get into Rolex - it’s a matter of principle, why should we pander to brands who act like they are above the customer? Respect should work both ways. I do get caught up in the hype and the workmanship is fantastic, but prices have gone up so much and they ultimately remind me of something my grandparents wore.
I might get one in the future, but not at the moment.
Love watches, whisky. Deep rabbit hole are watches. Wallet needs a break.
