Today I bought the Casio A1100B-1, a metal version of the A100 series. The A100 series is a re-release of the F-100 from the '70s, also known as the Alien watch. This is because Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley wore two F-100 stuck together in Aliens, in what was supposed to be a futuristic watch at the time. First impressions: it looks and feels good, but at this price point the watch lacks some basic features: - no 24h time display - I mean wtf?! - even the F-91W can do it - chronometer can only count up to tenths of a second - no real biggie, but I think Casio is really trying to go back to the '70s with this one - the bracelet is one step above the ones in the A168W / A158W series, but man, folded links at this price? Casio must be crazy.
