New Watch! Jaeger and Benzinger w/ vintage movement

Good mail day today! Today I received my limited edition Jaeger and Benzinger and I am over the moon. The watch takes styling cues from the Breguet Classique, but comes in a 38mm steel case and has a sapphire caseback. The movement is a restored vintage FHF movement that is plated and engraved with guilloche. The watch comes with a nice leather travel pouch, and a handwritten letter that I can't read! (looks like I need to brush up on my deutsch). I'm really looking forward to giving this some good wear!

How does this watch work for you so far? I have been looking at the same watch for many years now. Keep debating to go higher for a Laine, Kudoke at 10k for a better finish movement or go with Ophion for a more decorated hand set but machine finished dial. Did you get it from watchbuy or straight from germany?

I like this watch a lot; would definitely recommend! The dial is phenomenal, and is up to par with watches that cost twice the price, such as the Breguet Classique. The movement finishing is also very impressive; I don't think there's a better finished movement in this price range.

The case is also extremely well machined and finished. I'm a big fan of the brushing on the side of the case, and the edges are quite sharp. It is slim and wears very comfortably.

I'd say the case and dial are just about perfect.

It came on an ostrich leather strap, which was also very well made. However, I don't really like the polka-dot effect ostrich leather has so I've been wearing it on a blue fabric strap. There is an option to choose between a generic deployant clasp or house tang buckle. I choose the tang buckle, and it is extremely nice. Definitely opt for the tang buckle if you purchase this.

The movement has pros and cons. I like the finishing, and I think it's fun to watch the slightly slower 18,000hz beat rate. On the downside, it doesn't hack, is a little on the louder side, and I'm a little worried about long term reliability due to its age, but I have hope that servicing won't be too difficult as it is a time-only manual wind movement.

I ordered from watchbuys, and received the watch about 3 months after ordering. I emailed Jochen Benzinger via the Jaeger&Benzinger website, and he engraved the caseback for me at no extra cost. If you have any requests for customization, I would recommend emailing within a few days of ordering.

I haven't handled any of the other watches you mentioned, so I can't give a comparison, but I can speak very highly of this watch after near 2 months ownership.
