Don't.

More specifically, $5K won't buy your entry to the "guaranteed" profit level watches. Watches that have been losing value since this time last year... You're about a 18 months late to the flipping game.

Well, if you can get an AP Royal Oak, Rolex Daytona, or VC Overseas blue at at retail, you'll make a few dollars.

A primary reason many watches can only be had gray market and then only purchased at prices exorbitantly above MSRP is flippers, unscrupulous ADs and hoarding private parties. YouTubers and watch forum members constantly moan and cry about this situation yet promote "investment" (flipping) potentional all the time. Seems rather disingenuous, especially for the click-baiting Youtubers.

I don't see anything wrong with flipping anything. Just be upfront with your intentions. Flipping in the watch world only works when buyers are willing to play along with the artifical supply and demand game.

This is in no means aimed at the OP. Just a thought that's run though my brain for a long time.

I can anticipate the two questions you probably have after reading this post...Do thoughts like these often hurt Mr Fabulous' brain and what does Mr Fabulous look like naked? The answers are yes and not so good anymore, but only my special lady, Inflatible Ingrid, will ever know for sure.
