Orient Kamasu in the ocean

Has anyone actually worn an Orient Kamasu in the ocean??

Sounds like a silly question to ask, considering it’s a dive watch. But hardly anyone actually dives with dive watches… right?

Anyway, I’m heading to Mexico for a beach vacation in a couple weeks (funny enough there was a similar post earlier today) and just ordered my first dive watch, an Orient Kamasu on a rubber strap. I also purchased a nato to swap with it.

I really want to take it and wear it (leaving it in the room while at the beach makes me uncomfortable). I guess what I’m asking is should I feel safe wearing my brand new watch in the ocean/at the beach? Has anyone worn a Kamasu in the ocean and can vouch for it?

Apologies if anyone finds this irritating haha just looking for recommendations/peace of mind.

As a confirmed desk diver who hasn't been in the ocean (or lake, or pool) for literally decades, when Orient (or Seiko) badges a watch as WR for, say, 200 meters, you can take that to the bank.  I wouldn't be worried at all taking an Orient dive watch into the water.

Have a good time.

As long as you make sure the crown is screwed down its have no concerns taking a 200m rated dive watch into the sea. If you want to be extra safe, have it on the nato and if a spring bar fails you haven't lost the watch.

I think wearing Kamasu while swimming is fine, since it is 20bar or 200m water resistance watch. However it is not ISO certified 200m diver so it may not be suitable for diving.
