Before you buy Reverso Duoface

In case anyone plans to buy a Reverso Duoface, I want to share one thing you may overlook.

It works more like a caller/office GMT, rather than a traveller/true GMT.

Let me explain.

The first face has;

- hour, minute and small second. No day/night indicator.

The second face has;

- hour/minute for second time zone, with hour adjusted independently without stopping the movement

- day/night indicator

This set up works perfectly for caller/office usage.

When travelling, it would feel a bit weird to have day/night indicator on local time, not on home time. Of course you can use the first face as local time and second face as home time if you don’t mind adjusting both when you cross time zones.

I’m not saying this is bad. I actually like it the way it is because I work with people across the globe everyday but don’t travel so often.

Just thought you’d be happier buying it knowing exactly what it does…. especially if you are looking at Classic Duo, which says “Travel Time” on the second face, which could be misleading.

(“Travel Time” print doesn’t bother me. I move the hour hand at my desk and imagine I’m travelling🌏😊)

To me, a Duoface Reverso just feels like an obsolete novelty.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE JLC. A Reverso is on my list. But the whole purpose of the Reverso’s main function is to protect the watch from damage!

I know it’s kind of a dated function considering the levels of service you can get nowadays, as well as sapphire crystals etc., but personally it gives me peace of mind that my expensive-ass watch is somewhat secure, instead of just being a glorified fidget spinner.

I thought the same, not exactly concerned about damaging the watch, but rather being true to original.

But after trying both, I couldn’t resist the duo😆

I recommend you try both before you make the decision.

And this glorified fidget spinner is really, really addictive 😁

@parechute yes!! That was exactly my thoughts! Which is a bit of a bummer since I realised it’s exactly more of a caller gmt. A bit of a bummer!!
