Ever get relieved to throw away a broken watch?

I wear all my watches and try to have them in the rotation otherwise what’s the point? For me at least.

Anyhoo my box has been getting filled and one of my Microbrand watches, first gen (I won’t say who nor have I posted about them), had a tiny crown which forced me to really yank with my nail to get it out. This really bothered me every time but I thought I was doing myself a favor but using it. Eventually yesterday I realized the screw crown felt off and wasn’t winding like normal and the date was not properly changing in the second position.

The brand had another issue previously that they helped me fix and I wanted to keep supporting them but at the cost of shipping or repairing I decided it really wasn’t worth it and tossed the watch (sorry people who like parts).

It was just the second issue in less than 7 months and didn’t feel like it was well made.

I guess that’s it for me for experimental brands or lesser known micros.

But to be honest I’m really excited to have cleared a slot in my watch box for another peice! Thinking Traska or CW but not sure yet cause I’ve seen some QC issues. Maybe I should really wait a while and get something with very good reputation like a NOMOS or Oris?

So wasteful…

What do you recommend I do with it?

I've been lucky with all my watches. I've never had to throw one out. But if one was a casualty of war - I would still keep it and use it for parts some how. Sorry for your loss 🙏🏽😆

What's the brand and watch. Might as well say 😉

Should name them so others don't get stung.

Another reason I generally avoid microbrands.
