IWC Ingenieur 3521 - what is your opinion on the 34mm size?

I have a bit of a crush on the IWC Ingenieur 3521 (I mean: genta design, JLC movement, very solid steel bracelet, date - what’s not to love about that combo).

For this, my father was an engineer and I regularly despaired when writing the word as an elementary school student.

However, the 34mm size is still a question on my mind.

My comfort zone is otherwise rather watches from 36 to 38mm (and 40mm then still, if a bezel is in the game - so an Explorer 2 15670 for example).

Can anyone tell me how the watch wears? With integrated bracelets, it's often the case that the watch wears a bit larger than the spec sheet suggests.

Does anyone have some good wristshots?

Looking forward to hear your thoughts

The watch I use as my avatar is a 34mm, and I honestly don't think it wears all that different than a 36mm.

It's two millimeters. I bet it would look just fine. I don't have wrist shots of the watch I own, but I admit I don't have eight-inch wrists or anything close to it.

I'd say to to a watch shop, find something 34mm, and try it around your wrist. It should pretty much tell you all you need to know. Best of luck with this - that IWC is a really great watch.

I’ve got a 6.5” wrist. and most of my watches are in the 36-38mm size. I picked up a Tudor oysterdate in 34mm a while ago and was amazed how it just fits. Tried the 3506 once and it too just fits. The integrated bracelet will make the watch visually seem a little bigger too.

and seriously, this watch is iconic and absolutely no one who’s opinion you should value wI’ll comment negatively about it. Look forward to seeing the wrist shot!
