I've had at least two alarm clocks in my bedroom. One acting as the primary and the second as a backup in case I accidentally sleep through it (it's happened).
I refuse to leave my phone on at night because I know someone will call or text in the middle of the night. Plus it destroys the battery.
An alarm clock I had since around 2008 fell and smashed against a vent grate and it was kaput. I still had the back up, which is loud and will jolt me awake. Eventually, I replaced the broken one.
Guess what happened to the back up? Yep, it went the way of humpty dumpty. Which sucks because I was house sitting and was going to use the back up since there isn't an alarm clock there.
Now, I'm down to using my designated travel watch. Fortunately, I had brought it just in case.
I might have to buy a supply of alarm clocks at this point. 🤣 Okay, I just had to vent.

And for anyone wondering, I totally had the Uncle Buck reaction when the pot rack and pots smashed to the floor.
Always have a backup 😅
Always have a backup 😅
At this rate I'll need 3 or 4 backups 🤣
